Angus announces new album Postcards and national tour

Angus Gill is bringing it all back home.

Now based in Nashville, where he’s been writing, producing and collaborating with some of the world’s finest artists and songwriters, the Golden Guitar winner and ARIA Award nominee will return to Australian stages this October with a brand new album, Postcards, and an accompanying national tour.

Gill has built a reputation as one of Australia’s most versatile and hard-working creatives — a hit songwriter, acclaimed producer, novelist and natural-born entertainer. With 18 number-one singles on Australian Country Radio, five ARIA-charting albums and over 100 recorded cuts, his songs have travelled far and wide, while his live shows keep audiences equal parts moved and in stitches. His collaborators span a wide spectrum, from Steve Earle and Buddy Miller to Diesel, Melinda Schneider and Eric McCusker, testament to a career built on range, substance and credibility.

About Postcards

Postcards is Gill’s boldest project yet: a reimagining of beloved Australian songs through a Nashville bluegrass lens. It’s a vibrant tribute that connects two worlds — the iconic anthems that defined a generation of Australian music, reframed with the raw energy and instrumentation of American roots.

The album features an all-star cast of guests, including Gang Gajang’s Mark Callaghan, soul powerhouse Deni Hines, country-pop standout Melanie Dyer, and Country Music and Rock & Roll Hall of Famer James Burton on dobro. Together, they help breathe new life into songs made famous by Split Enz, Mondo Rock, Gotye, Thelma Plum, Meg Washington, Diana Anaid and more.

The first single, The Sounds of Then (feat. Mark Callaghan), has already made waves, reaching #1 on the AMRAP Regional Chart, signalling the strong reception for Gill’s inventive take on these classics.

The Postcards Tour

The Postcards Tour is more than just an album launch. It also marks the arrival of Gill’s debut novel Departure & Arrival, a moving and often laugh-out-loud story about the endurance of friendship during hardship. The live shows will bring all of these strands together — music, storytelling and humour — into one cohesive, unforgettable performance.

Angus Gill is a once-in-a-generation talent — a Golden Guitar winner, ARIA Award nominee, and one of Australia’s most accomplished young artists, songwriters and producers. With 18 #1 singles, five ARIA chart-topping albums and over 100 recorded cuts, Gill has achieved what many spend a lifetime chasing — all before turning 30.
